However, the export volume of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) in H1, 2017 climbed up by 27.48% from last year. As the EVA unit at Jiangsu Sailboat Petrochemical was put into operation, the direct supply of ethylene-based VAC surged, and the market proportion of calcium carbide-based VAC kept rising.
The capacity of VAC is highly centralized, and producers postpone expanding capacity temporarily.
