As of the
week ending April 24, the average CDU run rate at Shandong independent
refineries was 63.26%, unchanged from that of the week ending April 18, SCI’s
data showed. During the week ending April 24, the CDUs at 7 Shandong
independent refineries were still offline, while no Shandong independent
refinery shut down or restarted its CDU in the week. A few refineries adjusted
their secondary units’ runs, but that had no influence on the throughput. Therefore,
the average CDU run rate at Shandong independent refineries this week remained
stable.
In the
coming week, Shandong Shenchi Petrochemical is scheduled to restart its CDU at
the end of the month, while other independent refineries with unit shutdown had
delayed their restarts of units owing to meager refining margins. Moreover, no
independent refinery is heard to shut down its units. Therefore, SCI reckons
that the weekly average CDU run rate at Shandong independent refineries will be
buoyed by the restart of units at Shenchi and see a slightly uptick.
