On May 22, the
largest single tank LNG bonded warehouse of Sinopec Qingdao LNG Terminal in
China was approved to be established in Dongjiaokou Economic Zone, Qingdao, which
also became the first LNG bonded tank in the country with a dual-berth wharf.
The LNG bonded warehouse
with 270,000 cbm storage capacity is the largest single storage tank among
domestic bonded LNG storage facilities. It can simultaneously carry out
diversified and innovative projects such as LNG bonded re-export, fuel
refueling and LNG ship gas test cooling chamber technical services. The LNG resources
in the bonded warehouse can either be re-exported for sale to other countries
or be circulated and used within the country after paying taxes and fees.
The demand for
natural gas in North China is strong, but the capacity for gas storage and peak
shaving is relatively insufficient. As the first LNG bonded warehouse in
Shandong Province, Sinopec Qingdao LNG terminal, relying on the advantages of
the Dongjiakou natural deep-water port, is expected to achieve an annual import
and export of nearly 800 kt of bonded resources, reducing the enterprise’s
capital turnover cost by over 200 million yuan. It can efficiently balance the
market fluctuations during the winter supply guarantee period and the low
demand period in summer.
