Feedstock: The palm
oil market stopped rising and went sideways this week, and the price of stearic
acid softened. As of November 20, the negotiation price of first-grade stearic
acid was RMB 10,950/mt, down RMB 50/mt from last week.
Supply-demand: Feedstock
prices declined, lending less support to the AKD market. In addition, the
downstream demand was average. The negotiation room for actual orders widened.
Price: As of November
20, AKD1840 market prices closed at RMB 17,500-18,200/mt in East China,
averaging RMB 17,850/mt, down RMB 100/mt from last week.
Forecast: Feedstock markets
are expected to stay at highs. The AKD producers may face sustained cost
pressure.
