The temporary land
use in part of Sichuan-Chongqing-Hubei section has been officially
approved for Pipeline II of the Sichuan to East Gas Pipeline (SEP) Project.
As a major energy
infrastructure project in China during the 14th Five-Year Plan
period, the SEP Pipeline II Project is divided into Sichuan-Chongqing-Hubei
section and Hubei-Henan-Jiangxi-Anhui-Zhejiang-Fujian section. It is
4,269 kilometers long and passes through eight provinces and municipalities,
including Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Henan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Zhejiang and
Fujian. SEP Pipeline II is connected to SEP Pipeline I, the West-East Gas
Pipeline System, and the Jiangsu-Anhui Pipeline, linking the LNG resources in
the southwest gas region, the coastal areas and the markets in the central and
eastern regions.
