According to the recently issued
national economy running statistics from China National Bureau of Statistics,
in March 2025, China’s energy production changed by 9.6% for coal, 3.5%
for oil, 5.0% for natural gas and 1.8%
for power generating on a YOY basis.
1 Coal Stat.
China’s coal production growth was stable. In March 2025, China’s
coal production was 440 MMt, up 9.6% YOY. The average daily production was 14.21
MMt.
In 2025, China’s coal production accumulated at 1,200
MMt, up 8.1% YOY.
2 Oil Stat.
China’s crude oil production growth was accelerated. In March 2025,
China’s crude oil production was 19.03 MMt, up 3.5% YOY. The daily average
production was 614 kt.
In
2025, China’s crude oil production accumulated 54.09
MMt, up 1.1% YOY.
In March 2025, China’s crude oil processing volume was 63.06 MMt, up
0.4% YOY.
In
2025, China’s crude oil processing volume accumulated at 182.25
MMt, up 1.6% YOY.
3 Gas Stat.
China’s natural gas production steadily rose. In March 2025,
China’s natural gas production was 22.7 bcm,
up 5.0% YOY. The daily average production was 0.73 bcm.
In 2025, China’s natural gas production accumulated at 66.0 bcm,
up 4.3% YOY.

4 Power Stat.
China’s power generating growth was accelerated. In March 2025,
China’s power generating was 778.0 TWh, up 1.8% YOY. The daily average power generating
was 25.10 TWh. China’s growth rates of thermal power, wind power
generating, solar power, hydro power and nuclear power generating were mixed.
Therein, China’s thermal/hydro/nuclear/wind/solar power production growth rate
was -2.3%, 9.5%, 23.0%, 8.2% and 8.9% YOY respectively.
In 2025, China’s power generating accumulated at 2,2699
TWh, down 0.3% YOY.
