In the first half of April 2025, the
Phase I project of CHN Energy Qingyuan Shijiao Gas-fired Power Plant, located
in northern Guangdong, achieved a key milestone as its two combined cycle units
successively completed the 72+24-hour full-load operation test and officially
entered commercial operation. This achievement not only injects new vitality
into the energy supply of northern Guangdong but also strongly promotes the
region's green and low-carbon development.
The Phase I project consists of two
100MW (6F) gas-steam combined cycle cogeneration units. Once fully operational,
it is expected to generate 1.1 billion kWh of electricity and supply 2.03
million GJ of heat annually, with an estimated annual natural gas consumption
of about 200 million cubic meters.
The natural gas for the CHN Energy
Qingyuan Shijiao Phase I project is mainly supplied by a dedicated pipeline
constructed by the South China branch of the PipeChina. This dedicated pipeline
was put into operation on March 15, 2025, with a designed annual gas
transmission capacity of 624 million cubic meters. It is 9.13 km in length and
primarily serves the CHN Energy power plant. The commissioning of this project
marks a significant enhancement in Guangdong Province's clean energy supply
capacity and further improvement of the energy infrastructure in northern
Guangdong.
