According to China’s General Administration
of Customs (GACC), China’s natural gas imports in
September 2024, including piped gas import and LNG import, totaled 11.99
million tons, up 1.96% M-O-M and up 18.17% Y-O-Y. The average import cost was
$496.9/mt ($9.51/MMBtu), up 0.52% M-O-M and up 4.65% Y-O-Y.
China’s YTD import volume by September 2024
totaled 99.08 million tons, up 13.0% Y-O-Y, and China’s
YTD import cost by September 2024 totaled 48.66 billion USD, up 3.70% Y-O-Y.
According to SCI’s AIS monitoring, China
received approximately 6.92 million tons of LNG imports in 103 cargoes in
September 2024, up 5.86% M-O-M and up 21.68% Y-O-Y. Please note that there are
differences between the AIS data and customs data that may be caused by the pre-clearance
or delayed clearance documented progress, free-bond cargo clearance, historical
data backtrace and revision, etc.
